Character Basketball

The Character Basketball League is a fun and exciting way to reach out to urban youth with the love of Christ and His message of salvation. The League is designed to build Christ-like character and emphasizes personal growth rather than competition.

Games are based on the philosophy that everyone plays, everyone is a winner, good character counts, and respect is the rule. Behavior and attitude are crucial elements of the Character Basketball League. One league facilitator says, "This League isn't about basketball. It's about where the kids will be in five or ten years and the people they will become."

Teams are sponsored by local churches and may join the League at any point during the season. Currently there are three divisions; one for 10 years old and under, one for 11-12 year olds, and one for 13-14 year olds. Equipment and referees are provided.
